I need some advice on how to rig a horizontal tree to pull it sideways 30'

About 25 years ago my in-laws, who heated with wood, were trying to fell a tree. They usually just cut wood that was already down, so this was a near first for them. They were worried it was going to fall in a bad direction, so they tied it off with nylon rope to their truck. When they cut it, and it started to fall, the rope almost immediately snapped and flew back, hitting my mother-in-law in the thigh. She went down to the ground immediately. Couldn't feel her leg. Eventually, she was able to get up. She had a bruise that was the blackest and bluest I'd ever seen. Lucky it didn't hit her in the face, neck, or head.

On occasion I have used 3/4 poly rope and stretch it to the point of being my 'slingshot'. (usually used my 4 x 4 to pull taunt)
But if U do this be careful, but it is a handy 'tool' under certain situations (like a slightly leaning tree to simply help it the right way)
LOL, I once had a tree simply jump up and land where I had hoped! (calculate luck)

first I cut the standing up piece.

I started snipping the shredded pieces on the stump.

Started from the other end cutting a hole to get me and the saw in and cut the trunk in 10' sections.
As the truck got bigger the sections got smaller.

There was only about 2" of good wood around the outside of the stump, the rest was all dry rot.

The battery operated Husqvarna worked good, 45 minutes of limbing and one battery went flat, so I switched to the other battery and continued cutting for another 45 minutes. By that time I was about wore out so called it a day. IF the rain holds off, I will finish blocking it up today.
You've got the 'before' pics, the after pics will come when it is all done.

At the pace that spring is arriving, I wont be able to get on that yard until next fall when I come back from my summer work.

High nitrogen fertilizer will help to rot the rest of the stump and next winter I should be able to get it out of there.

I had a tree that was up on high ground over top of the house I lived in at the time. Hooked a 1" rope (real rope, not that plastic crap we have now) to it and pulled it tight with my Plymouth while a buddy cut the tree. It landed in the back yard, well away from the house. Dumb luck.:)
