Couldn't you put 4X4s or 4X6s under the crates with a spreader in front and between them and drag them with the back of the tractor? Seems safer than trying to elevate them. We moved a 12X12 shed twice that way-just chained it to a clevis on the drawbar. You can wrap the chain around the backhoe frame and not damage anything. Can the crates be separated? It would be easier to move one at a time.

Nope Eddie - don't think you qualify either if you came away unscathed - just another good story to tell. Not sure I would consider anyone on these board even remotely eligible. Lot of good sense out there, even when pushing the envelope. Singlecoil had enough sense to know not to push it further when it got dicey.

Back when I drove a small dump - can't remember how many times, in the winter, where the load froze to the bed - bed raised - front wheels come up -climb up with a pick to bust it free hoping I didn't slide out with the load. I never did, but the boss' son would always forget to open the tailgate - had to get one of the loaders over to push the front of the truck back down. And I'll never forget the time I was covering a freshly dug window well with plywood, fell in head first, arms pinned to my sides. Had to be pulled out by my ankles.

These might be all good "duh" moments - but hey - stuff happens. Loading 1000# of drywall on top of a Ford Festiva - that's a whole other issue...

Sorry to get somewhat sappy - but I am constantly humbled by the stuff you guys accomplish

Man, you are right about the playhouse thing. That crate would have saved me a lot of time and trouble if I had it sitting in my yard My little girl really wants a playhouse.

There is an 8 x 12 storage building for sale in my local paper.
Says it's presently being used as a kids playhouse.
