I drove down to my Kubota dealer today and played around with his new M59 for awhile. He ordered it with no back hoe, as he was hoping I would buy it. I must admit, having never operated a Kubota tractor with the new HST plus transmission, the new HST plus hydro is quite the transmission!

I'm impressed. It operates like a full size tractor with a torque converter. As long as Kubota has done their home work on the electronics used in the unit, this should be "The transmission to beat." I just hope there will be no long term electrical problems with the unit. The old HST trans used in the L48 was bullet proof. As soon as my M7040 sells I will buy the M59. With a 84" 4G series Gearmore rear box blade, it should make a good all around construction tractor.

If you don't mind me asking, why are you selling the M7040? Just curious, you haven't had it all that long.

I've scaled my business down and I no longer need that large of a tractor. Also, I want to go to a hydro for loader work. The 7040 is a fine machine. If you know of anyone looking, mine has less than 300 hours on it and is in like new condition. All the TNT valves are factory Kubota, along with the FEL third function valve.

Mule did you ever get your dash gauges wired up like the operators manual calls for?

No. They basically just blew me off. Quite frankly knowing me, I surprised I'm even thinking about buying another Kubota product after the way Kubota treated me on that issue!

I'm thinking pretty seriously of an M59 myself. Went and sat on one today - it's a nice tractor.

Though their idea of leg room to swivel the seat, and mine, differ by a foot or so.

Mule do a search on my M9540DT issue with the front axle. You just won't believe what the Dealer put me through. I don't believe the Dealer even went to Kubota and another Dealer told me theres been four updates on the wiring harness problem too. He has two M9540DT with ropes he can't give away now in this area. Seems like in that class down here everybody wants a cab. Good to talk to you I follow most your post keep'en coming....

I can tell you one thing for sure, I was not at all impressed with the way Kubota responded to the problem. Especially since I have bought four new tractors from them. So far the M7040 has been a good tractor with no other problems except the wiring issue and the front FEL ram problem. What's going on with the front ends?

On the M59, I just drove it around a dealership today, and was pretty impressed. Handled really nicely, and some thoughtful touches.

I just drove a new 4WD M59 4 post canopy at the local dealer. Operated the backhoe and front loader also. Very nice machine, very stout. Still have to stand up to switch the seat 180 deg but I can live with that. I would have to look under it and understand what all is involved in doing routine maintenance before buying. I wonder how reliable the transmission is? Probably worth low 40's.
