Hi all,

I took, Jinny, my BX2360 out into the woods today for the first time and I scratched her bucket a few hundred times. I have mixed feelings though. I was so happy moving dirt and stones but I feel sad knowing she is no longer the virgin that she was when she was delivered last week. Grrrrr!!!

Oh well. I thought that I should share a pic so others can rejoice/mourn the events of today.

Building on the experiences of today I am planning on picking up a tooth bar to help me pop some of these rocks.

Don't worry about it. Kubotas have a bit of a masochistic streak in 'em. They don't feel loved until you scratch, dent or work up a sweat with them.

Think of it as its christening! Just keep the rubber side down and enjoy what she'll do for you. You're going to love that thing as time progresses.

Being a new owner I guess no one has told you!! Put it in a heated garage, cover it with a soft car cover and quit taking it outside!!!!!:laughing:
Let's not start how many people wax their Kubota again.:)

CHD,

I am loving it alright! She is an awesome machine. I am thinking that the LA243 is a tad bit weak. While digging/popping up 12-14' rocks, I noticed the bucket flexes a bit and the last thing I want is warp my FEL.

This summer I will likely be welding five bars 3/16" thick, 1" wide in a | / | \ | shape across the inside bottom of the bucket. This should stiffen her up quite a bit, IMO.

Whats wrong with waxing the Kubota? It says right in the back page of my owners manual in the maintenance section...

Seems to me the weakest part of the BX loaders is across the top edge. It really could use some added reinforcement there. A couple dealers I've talked to weld angle iron across the top to mount hooks on, both as a means to add the hooks and to stiffen the top edge. I've popped a couple boulders with mine that once out of the ground, it couldn't lift (I didn't even try they just looked that heavy to me). I may have a few millimeters of defection but nothing noticeable to the eye anyway.

Yup - I think the blower will definitely eat that boulder. No problem.
