Well I decided to hook up the brush hog today and do a little cutting. Seemed only a bit sluggish, thought it was just the cutter. Turns out had the parking brake on!

I got a total of 2 hours on the machine, and the last hour was with the parking brake on pulling a cutter.

So...what did I mess up??

Thanks.

kind of cool how the tractor has enough guts to ALMOST make the parking brake moot :D

don't worry about it. maybe make yourself a little sticker that stands out reminding you to take the PB off.

So, you made the same mistake that most of us have made at one time or another. Just for varying lengths of time. You probably have no damage though, just as most of us didn't.

First time I did that, I had smoke pouring out the back end of the tractor. Scared me enough to make it a habit to check it every time.

Bird, that is one mistake I have never made. I won't mention any of the dumb mistakes I have made with my tractor at this time but I honestly can say I have never driven with the brakes on for more than 2 seconds. You see my tractor really squeels if I leave the brakes on. As for all the other dumb things I have done you would need another 5 or 6 pages to list them all.

I managed to till the garden the other day with the brake on. Fortunately I have left the brake on enough times that I don’t worry about the tractor anymore and just write it off as another senior moment.

As the others said need not worry, and fear not it shall happen again ;) wait until you forget to lift the rear attachment like plow etc... and drag it across fresh pave driveway than you can "I screw up"

No you didn't screw up. Funny though. I'm not laughing at you, just with you!

Screwing up is leaving the ROPS up and pulling into the garage, thus adding a modification to your house plan.
