Just saw they followed the “bargain brands“ and now have a no DPF engine in the 5 series tractor. I’ve read folks say, if it worked so well, why aren’t the big brands using it? Well, now they are.

Sort if interested in seeing the 5050E

Wonder if its a Mahindra diesel? Or Deere stealthily copied it?

Simpson has been doing the same for Massey in the 2600 tractors.
Seems it’s catching on.

I had heard some rumors a while back it might be Fiat so FPT?

No, it is a Deere engine, the 3029. They just changed from no EGR and a combination DOC/DPF to EGR and a DPF-less DOC for MY2023. Deere did actually use a few of the 3.4 FPT engines in the 5G specialty tractors, but those were the only FPT-engined Deeres out there. As far as I can tell, Deere stopped using the FPT engines in the 5G series in favor of their own 3029 and 4045 engines for MY2023.

CNH and AGCO use DPF-less DOC setups so it was them vs. Deere and Kubota who used a DPF for under-75 HP utility tractors, until this year when Deere joined the no-DPF camp.

Deutz engines are the same up to about 80 Hp. Wherever they are used, whether in their own tractors or TYM. There might be others too.
