I also own a Kubota L3940. If his work improves the performance and power, I'll ship my tractor to Fred and pay him to do the same to mine. If it does not work, than I doubt there is any harm done to the engine. Remove turbo and back to factory specs.

 Fred knows what he's doing.

and if he damages the engine and he sells it as if no mods were made to it, I am sure you would put your money up for it as well.

So I assume you are one of the guys who sells a flooded vehicle after a hurricane....

NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT IS THERE?

Why would you assume that? Strawman

I go by the "buyer beware" mantra. And no, I do not and would not sell a "flooded vehicle" or any other vehicle without letting potential buyers know of any problems. That's me. What others do is their choice. I do not judge their intent or actions. That's not my place.

...so let's say the engine is damaged and needs to be replaced, roughly how much would it cost for a rebuilt unit and labor above that? Charlie.

Ole Fredster would probably put a 427 Chevy in it.

WOW what is all this crap going on here. A guy modifying an engine in his tractor has now become a moral issue. Really:confused3::anyone:
Giver Fred. When do you expect the test run?

I hate to tell you this but I bet a lot of tractors get sold because the operator ran them into a pond (or something else stupid). If Fred damages the engine then he'll either fix it at his cost, have the insurance fix it (if he has insurance), or sell it as is.

Keep us posted, interesting mod. You must have bad morals if you are putting German parts on Japanese tractor... That must be all kind of wrong, maybe even kinky. Say 3 hail mary's and move on.

, have the insurance fix it (if he has insurance), or sell it as is.

Herein lies the issue (in my opinion).

This IS insurance fraud that we all pay for! Anyone has the right to make mods as they wish to anything but when things go wrong; equipment is returned to stock and an insurance claim is made this just ends up costing us all.

Definition: Insurance Fraud occurs when people deceive an insurance company or agent to collect money to which they aren’t entitled.

"It is a criminal act requiring a material and intentional misrepresentation in order to obtain a benefit, or cause a benefit due someone to be denied. "

Just saying; if things go wrong and you are willing to take responsibility then no issue
