I think my John Deere dealer is becoming "lazy"

Or you could do what my friend did...

Tell him you expect a loaner delivered within 24 hours because you've got planting to do...

His tractor was delivered at 9pm the day he called ready for work.

I posted a link on TBN about 5 years or so ago, to a Wall St. Journal article about John Deere dealerships and how they either need to sell out or buy up adjacent dealerships. Central to their strategy was reducing inter-dealership competition on pricing. As I recall, it wasn't long after that, a consortium of regional JD dealers placed a full page ad in our local paper- conspicuously absent from that ad was our local JD dealer, who eventual sucumbed to some kind of JD dealer group.

Another poster on this thread mused that they are more interested in the multimillion dollar equipment buyers than us occasional compact tractor buyers and also mused, why don't they just get out of the compact tractor business if they aren't interested in it. My thought would be, JD may be interested in the compact tractor business because the big equipment users need them occasionally. If so, don't expect JD to panic about the loss of customers like most of us.

I heard an accurate saying from an elderly farmer awhile back. Some JD dealers are what help make John Deere what it is today. Other JD dealers help make Kubota as popular as they are today.

Looks good.

Thanks! Only issue is whoever put the loader on didnt put the the level indicator on correctly. Apparently they moved it to the inside of the arms rather then the outside on the other models I looked at pics of.

Looks like a hoss of a loader. Glad it's finally home.

Thanks, me too! It's pretty strong for only being 56hp but I have a good bit of weight on it because all this tractor does is disk and fel work. I have other tractors for bush hogging and other chores. I got a full bucket of dirt earlier and the rear end didn't feel all that light without any counter weight. Tractor drives "heavier" now that's for sure.

I don't forsee this tractor EVER going back to the dealer. They will have to really get their act right for I set foot back in there again too. They used to be pretty decent to work with. Boy have times changed! Just seems like service has gone to crap all over not just JD.
