Dont know about all the other Kubota's, I had a max dollar amount I wanted to spend. And for the money the L2800 was the best I could do.
In Aug. of this year I bought an L2800 HST w/LA463 loader, R4 tires and folding Rops for $15300 delivered to my house. It has probably been the best $15k I've spent.
The little machine impresses me every time I get on it.
I have since added lights on the ROPS, a tool box mounted behind the seat, a Markham toothbar and also an umbrella holder /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.giffor the wet days when I'm burning brush.
Ihave a 2800 HST with a 463 loader and 7500 Woods backhoe and it is really great! Best bang for the buck tractor out there I think. My dealer sucks though!
If you have some hills that you will be brush hogging you might seriously consider the 3400 for the extras power, especially with the HST which takes away some power from your PTO. I was in the same consideration with the L3130, it is a nice tractor, but for what I needed for my hills and property was a little low on power, climbiing the hills and having the PTO going at the same time. I ended up with the 3830 and am really glad I did.
The other thing you might consider is having them bring it out for you to try on your property before you buy and make sure it will do what you need it to.
I just rolled 100hrs on my L2800 and it has done a great job for all I have done with it.
I recommend a box blade with a weight of @600lbs cause my 830 pounder (W/scarfiers down) could use a heavier tractor. My last BB was a little over 500lbs and it wouldn't stop me in my tracks with the tires spinning.
I do love the amount of material my 830 pounder can move though.
(Kuboto L3400) (Ford 1900 4WD w/FEL) (Deere X748SE) All bought new
My L3400HST had the folding ROPS and R4's but Ithey were not itemized on the receipt. I just assumed since the folding ROPS is listed as a factory option on the Kubota web site that it would cost extra.
You will like the extra weight and feel that it provides. I'm glad I got the L2500. In your case you might consider dropping the HST if you can save some money. It takes away some power and unless you are planning spending most of your time using the FEL (as in moving dirt, not lifting and such) you won't really need it mowing the acreage your talking about or grading a 1500' driveway.
