I only provided a water heater as well up here in MI. But the coop is insulated.

I know, told you hubby would laugh at me. I think he knows I do it, he has seen the heater out there.

But when it gets in the 20's and it has a couple of times this winter, I sure have happy looking hens, if you can believe hens can look happy. They just cluck and talk to me when I put them up and let them out. However, most of them are in the freezer now, what can I say.

Yes, a hog or pot-bellied pig will keep things clean if you have chickens. Unfortunately for us, our much-adored Corgi was a bit more energetic than the pot-bellied pig and wanted to be sure to get the lions portion of what the free-ranging chickens had to offer.

We used to keep a pot bellied pig in the coop. It cleaned up all of the grain (and would eat eggs too if she could get to them).

Nah, I read it. Figured I had started reading the post I might as well finish. Eventually I figured where the story was going but I could not stop reading. You knew you did not want to know but I just had to keep watching....

I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. After some of the comments about why men shave there legs I think I need to stop reading TBN for the rest of the day.

Why have chickens? For the same reason some people buy Porsches. They don't need them, they want them.
