After 300+ hours on my BX23 it was time to do some more maintenance and a specifications check. It just didn't seem to have as much power as when new. So my nephew made up a test gage to check the pressure. (See attached picture) Well guess what? Only had 1550 Lbs. out of the 1849 lbs. the book says. Took the nut off where the shims are to be and no shims! Cut some brass shim stock and installed under the spring to bring the pressure up to spec. (OK so it's a little over). Now bring on the snow !

Did the foam on the front "porcupine" tires also $153.00 for both- couldn稚 swing the price for the rear $230.00 each.

Remember the saying "Don't squeeze the Charmin" well "Don't scratch the paint" :D

How about pics of the gauge hook up, and a picture of where the shims go, would be helpful for future reference. Does this up the pressure on the hydro or just the hydraulics?

My Charmin is all squeezed out and the paint has been well used. Just can't see them in the pic

I'll get pics tomorrow to post. I am assuming that this is for the whole system but don't know for sure. Anybody know? I haven't even had the chance to give it a workout yet.

I would sure appreciate it, the lift pressure was discussed before, but it was never made clear as to where the shims were inserted and if it affected the hydro or not, interested in your results. I've looked around and there are all kinds of places that look like they could possibly be where the shims go, just want to get the right plug.

I'll second that. I want to up the pressure myself but, curious how this will effect the entire system. I feel the loader could use just a little more power larger cylinders etc. Very nice gage setup. That's next on my list. ;)

I can't say for sure on a Kubota, but normally all HST transmissions on tractors have their own pump that is completely separate from the main hydraulic pump. the engine runs the HST pump and it powers the HST hydraulic motor. The HST pedal actually changes the amount of fluid pumped by the HST pump. The internal pressure of the HST transmission is much higher than the main hydraulic pump. I think you will only see the increased pressure in the 3PH, FEL, and maybe the power steering if you don't have a separate power steering pump.
