I'd like an UNDO key on my keyboard, right next to a JUST DO IT key.

Re: I\'d Like To See Them Make...

Paul,

You could probably power it off the deck, I think Deere drives some of their grass collectors that way. I looked at doing that, but I wasn't set up to modify the mower spindle, and I think you'd want to use a smaller trimmer than this one(it's 22 inches), or it could be pretty unwieldy when mowing.

The other problem I have is that I bought this tractor with this in mind (as well as a little trim mowing with the 42" deck), and I figured that since the original trimmer was only 6HP, I could get by with the 16HP single cylinder. To mount the trimmer to the deck, I would definately want more power. 16HP isn't enough for the deck alone on my grass. For the money, I would have probably gone with the JD L120 that they sell at Home Depot, but they're not built nearly as beefy as this little thing is. Everybody told me the L120 would not hold up on my 5 acres of cow pasture lawn very well.

I'm also toying with the idea of hanging it off the front of my 4310 with a small hydraulic motor to power it. I guess I like tinkering better than trimming!

Speed Racer did that on the Mach-5. What button did he push for his forrays of the race track? I remember he had saw blades that came out from the front to trim the trail in front of him too.

Re: I\'d Like To See Them Make...

Bobcat makes them. Replace your loader bucket with a Bobcat quik-tach. Run your auxillary hydraulics to the front of the loader arms.

Set the loader bucket up with a quik-tach plate. Get a second bucket with a toothbar, set up with the quik-tach. That works sweet on the Bobcat. One bucket for digging, one smooth bucket for material handling and final grading.

then you could run an auger off the loader arms too. Down pressure for summertime post hole digging...

It would be nice to have a standard system like that for 3pt equipment too. The 3pt is a great thing, but sometimes lining up different stuff is a pain, even when it is all parked on flat ground.

The other quik hitches are cool. Too bad there wasn't a universal one though, just like the 3pt system is universal on most tractors.

My mechanic friends say the smell of WD40 is a definite plus when it comes to attracting divorced women! They claim divorced women with homes and cars but no husband to fix them have a nose for the stuff. Any man who smells like WD 40 has to be handy around the house and is therefore desirable. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
