" :welcome: Get your feet wet with an old 9N or something you can get parts for."

Just because you might find some parts and don't mind the easter egg hunt for them does not mean that's for everyone. The original post gives me the impression that he is new to tractors. He may not be the type to "wrench" himself and there will be no place to simply call for repair or service, that equals a blue lawn ornament with little to no value for resale. There are plenty of old iron American tractors available with service/repair books that are actually written in English and the dealers is just around the corner.
To me, that is "helpful" and he might not be aware of "grey market" equipment and the related problems he could be facing.
Why are you even on this thread? It appears that you have little to no experience with imported equipment.

I digress.

Maybe try to read slower Bob, or maybe several times. Eventually you'll understand.:confused2:

Tractors are funny business. When I started looking - I had a 1948 Farmall Cub which many didn't even consider more than an old toy. Great tractor and hard to find parts for with its magneto and 6 volt system. I couldn't afford anything fancy or new- so the idea of a dealership tractor was all pie in the sky. Over time I bought my TC30 - used with 600 hours on it - Craigslist. Well worth it. I order parts from Messicks after I look them up on the NH parts site- saves me the 1+ hour drive to the NH dealer - as nice as they are. This site has helped a lot.
When I started looking I wanted a Kubota until I priced them. Checked out an LS. Same thing. Bought used - NH. In the end I saved money, got a good tractor, and rely heavily on it. Dealer support- that's one of those extras that I am not going to pay for, just like a cab. Nice to have- but you can't always get everything that would be nice to have.
My "American" brand New Holland turned out to be a Japanese tractor made by Shibaura. Foreign made isn't all that bad! Just have to use your head along with some luck!
