Picked it up off CL today. I have been wanting a LS rake for a while now. It is a 8' and seems to be well built.

I have already tore it down cause I am going to paint it. But I am curious as to who the MFG is. There were no ID tags that I could find. It may have been re-painted???? There are some areas that have some yellow paint showing, but it is mostly blue. And some areas that are blue and transition to rust show no signs of yellow. So the origional color I dont know for sure, blue???or yellow???.

But the main difference between this and most of the rakes that I have seen is the 3PH supports/bracing. Kinda Landpride looking, but different.

Any help would be appreciated. A google Images searh turned up nothing similar. It also has guage wheels that are red, but I think were origionally yellow as well.

Hey LD. Your rake looks very close to my JD back blade. I agree with you on the style of most rock rakes. They don't seem to be as heavy and have the enclosed look. Most are open 2x2 steel frame. Good luck. Matt

Thanks for the suggestion but I dont think its a JD. There is nothing that even looks close on their website. All their rakes are the conventional angle or tube frame.

Someone on here has to have one of these rakes????

Hi LD. Yeah, I didn't think it was a JD as you found no green paint. I was wondering if it was a knock off or someone who is associated with the JD brand. They sure have the same construction. Anyway good luck. Matt

Wow that looks identical in every way. How old is that deere blade of yours???

I googled john deere rakes and couldnt find anything even close. But after seeing that, it is definatally made by whoever made your blade.

Did deere ever make yellow implements?? cause the more I work on this, I think the origional color was yellow, but who knows for sure.

I just found this http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/pdfs/PC0662.PDF In the JD parts section of their website.

So it appears that I do have a JD model 250 landscape rake.

Kinda good news to me. Not everyday you can get JD implements for $175.

Now I really have to give it some thought. I was just going to paint it kubota orange, But Now I may paint it JD green. I bought this to clean up and try to resell and make a little on, but if it didn't sell, I would keep as i have pleanty of use for. But I think it would be hard to try to sell itas a JD rake if it were painted orange.

MTODD101, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Hi LD. Glad to give you a hand. Looks like a match. I made a 7 foot rock rake and use it all the time. I live on a 1/4 mile dirt/gravel driveway and it's the best implement I have for smoothing out the road. Not sure of the age of my blade. It was my father's before me but i can't say if he bought it used or new, but we've had it for 20+ yrs. I always thought JD was green but i also always thought Ford tractors were blue and I think some earlier ones were yellow. Glad you solved the mystery. Well worth $175. Have fun with it. Matt
