Oil & Fuel Ideas for fuel transfer???

That sounds backward - On road includes taxes, off road does not. That being said, it doesn't explain why the nearest Chevron station to me sells off-road diesel for only 20 cents less than on road, there's more tax difference than that!

I'd guess they're not giving off the full tax and pocketing the difference.
Always looks supicous to me.

I used a 55 gal. barrel for years for that before I got an overhead 500 gal. tank and started having fuel delivered.
If you have an FEL a 30 gal. barrel would not be hard at all to move out of a p/u bed. A hand pump would transfer the fuel easily. 12v electric fuel pumps with hose, wiring, and nozzles start around $200. I currently use a 100 gal bed tank with a 12v pump to transfer fuel around and keep a 500 overhead for bulk delivery here at the ranch.
I see used bed tank setups for sale on craigslist pretty often. Many of the bed tanks have lifting rings on them, you might could find the whole setup pretty cheap that way. I wouldn't fill it completely and try to move it if it was a bigger tank, but you could make one work out as a portable easily.
If you have a pump on the drum you don't need a Fel to get the fuel off the truck.

Some of us do not have trucks, at least I hope I am not the only one with out a truck. I have been thinking about plugging something into the receiver hitch on my car . I could use forks or 3 point or chain falls to get ot off, I have all three. It is a question of which has less risk to damage the car, probably the chain falls. 20-30 gal or maybe max 200 #. All of this to avoid lifting 5 gal can over the top of the tractor. On my MF30e I have to step up on something while jacking the can up at the same time. Another few years and it will be a serious concern. Maybe I should do it now before the price for all the parts triples.

Do you have a small trailer that you can tow behind your car? I don't have a truck either, so I have a nice Worthington aluminum utility trailer. I've even towed my little B7100 with it.

I also have one of the 30 gal fuel caddies with the hand pump -- got it for $100 used, needs a new hose. I put 20 gal in it on the way home. The only problem, is that some of it sloshed out the vent. The vent on this thing is around outside pipe that the fuel gauge comes out, and would not be easy to plug.

The pump works both ways (it can be used in suction mode to empty something into the tank), so I might just revert to bring the fuel home in my 5 gal cans (I have three of them), and just suck 'em out into the caddy when I get 'em home.

BTW, anyone know where to get replacement fuel delivery hose -- 3/4 pipe thread on each end?

Alot of 'rural' states have $0.17 to $0.21 fuel tax per gal added to the off road price. From doing fuel taxes for work I know that NC, OH, PA, NY, MA, CT are all over $0.25 - $0.38 a gal...

6sunset6,
You can buy one of those carry behind your car truck folding rack setups for $ 199 at TSC- I was just there looking at them.
You would need a 2" receiver hitch setup on your vehicle- 1" would not be strong enough plus it wouldn't fit.
Then you could buy a $100+ fuel tank with hose and nozzle to fill up at the station and you could fill your 5 gallon cans or your tractor if you lifted the tank off the rear transport grid thingy with your fel.
