What would the best states be for a holiday in USA or Canada

It may depend on where your interests lie and sorta what you would like to see or do. Maybe several years touring to get a feel??

At one time or another, I've been in some part of every state except Hawaii, and in 4 provinces of Canada. I don't think anyone can answer your question without knowing: (1) your personal interests, do you want to see cities or country, fishing, golfing, hunting, boating, swimming, or theaters, museums, and such, and (2) what time of year and what kind of weather do you want? We've just about got it all in different places and at different times. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Start with Yellowstone and that neighborhood...

There are thousands of great places to visit -- the question is what are you looking to do?

Are you looking for American History? Places like Washington D.C., Philadelphia and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, etc. are great places to go.

Do you want to do some snow skiing? Vale, Colorado is a good place to start.

Do you want to have an entertaining place to visit that caters to the night life? Try Las Vegas, Nevada or New Orleans, Louisiana.

If I were a rich man, I'd get a nice big RV and travel the US on the road, taking many months to do so.

Hopefully, you can give some more specifics on the kind of activities you want to do -- I'm sure there will be no lack of suggestions to follow.

I highly recommend Washington DC to see the various museums. I've been to Alaska and hiked to the base of McKinley, Canada to Banff and Jasper, Maine to Acadia to Hawaii, all over Yellowstone and Glacier park. Colorado, Idaho, Washington state, Wyomings Tetons, Oregon and many more beautiful places. I have yet to see anything yet quite as breathtaking as Yosemite. There are travelers from all over the world there and right now is prime time. Go in Spring, Fall or even Winter. Spring is great because the massive and highest falls in the US are flowing like mad. Just outside Yosemite is Sequoia Park. There you will find the largest single trees on earth. They are unbelieveable. Every where I go is an experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip back East. I love the rich history. The US has a lot of great places to see. Canada is also quite beautiul, I'm particularly partial to BC.

Any place you haven't been yet! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Go see it all.

I like to get to D.C. about once every 10 years just to see the history and the changes. Great museums, too.

Take the circle tours around the Great Lakes. Those are fun to camp, see the lighthouses and walk on the beaches.

Go to the boundary waters of Canada and Minnesota. You can still get lost there.

There's just too much to see and do right here in the good old U.S. and Canada. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
