We hit "Texas Roadhouse" about 3 times a week. With Sandy working more hours than I do, she doen't have time, nor the need to spend much time in the kitchen right now. And No one want's to eat my "gruel". We dropped in on "Pats Steak House" last week. It's mid to up-scale compared to Tex. Roadhouse. Shoulda seen the looks I got there!!!

Let me describe my usual attire, since I have no pictures currently.

Well worn bibs.... faded, stained, and 4 sizes too big. (and that's BIG) A Carhardt pocket tee. (various colors) Current Pioneer seed corn hat is a new style, in tree bark camo. Timberland boots, well scuffed, slightly dirty. Pocket watch, with gold chain hanging out of bibs pocket. Ball point pen and antique Pioneer mechanical pencil sticking out of shirt pocket. (Pencil is a "floaty". It has a clear plastic end with about 20 grains of Milo seed it it. It takes people by suprise.... They're old and dark in color, and look just like pot seeds..... It adds to the total effect)

Now tell me you'd want THAT MAN walking into YOUR fancy restaraunt!

( Really should define "Poor Foks". I would think what we consider as poor is a complete fallacy and has no relation to monetary value !

Egon )

I heard a story years ago, purported to be true, that a man from one of the old Soviet nations, who had seen a documentary by 20/20 or a similar network news magazine, about poverty in America, was asked by an American reporter to give his opinion of the documentary. The man replied: "I very much wish to visit this country where the poor people are fat."

Which T roadhouse, clarksville? We used to do it once a week, but now it is more like 2 times a month. We usually go play with the kitties the other weeks.

You would get some looks for sure, but tell me about this pats steak house. Do they have peanuts and bread for you.

Outer Loop Texas Roadhouse....

Pat's doesn't do peanuts.....Valet parking and champagne.

You aughtta see the look on the parking attendants face when he see's the Dodge 2500 4-door cab 4WD.... It's the bales of hay in the bed that complete the package!

Yep, Egon, "poor" and "rich" are relative terms. I took a financial beating on the RV lifestyle simply because I bought new rigs and didn't keep them very long, so huge depreciation. I suspect in comparison to the other TBN members, I'd rank pretty low, but I'd also say we're comfortable. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif We don't have much, but the best thing we don't have is any debts /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif; live in a mobile home on a rented lot now and drive 5 year old vehicles, but no mortgages, liens, or payments on anything. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

We have done the Outer Loop when there, but Louisville is not our main drag. We take my mother there for special days. We usually hit the Clarksville store, late for lunch and early for dinner since it is busy and smaller.

I bet they love it when you show up with bales in the truck. Just make sure they park it next to the Mercedez or BMW's, dont want to get any scratches on it from anything less than the best right?

Bird, you mean that you have NOT done as society says....bought everything on time to make the world think you have it made, but in reality you wonder and worry about next months payments and how you are going to do even more on less, and how to live so far outside your means that your kids kids will be paying off the debts............

Man, good for you!

I will be so glad when my "other" debts are gone, and they will be soon, then I work on the house. instead of 10% more each month, maybe 50% more on the principal.

I do believe winning the lottery would screw up most of our lives more than it would help them.>>>>

Sadly Harv you are right. It all comes down to liking the person you are, or chosing the right methods to make that true. MONEY will NOT do it. Money is a concrete object that if used incorrectly will screw up most anything.....

I find the person in the mirror to be a pretty happy dude, bald and older, but much wiser and happy with life. Yes winning would make a difference, I would still work as I love what I do, have lots of great people that I would miss, and have an important career with a great company.

I already have a clue as to how to make money work for YOU, other than the other way around. I sold securities and insurance for a few years. I dont need fancy investments, simple annuities will do fine, that pay INTEREST only.

Like someone else said on here, I dont want others to know how much I have. I would keep the outward about the same.
