I think it is his lack of a routine return time that prevents him from trying it. He stays until the job is done.

There are ride home programs for emergency purposes in our area, but yes, one must follow some sort of schedule.

And "sluggers" readily "pass" on drivers they consider "unsafe". Those considered unsafe, quickly pick up the bad rep.

It is a pretty efficient system.
