Tractor
Kubota B2910, BX2200, KX41-2V mini EX
Hi,

AFter a year of tractor ownership, and being a total greenhorn when I made my first tractor purchase, I got to thinking...

Would I do the same again, or do it different?

The first one was a B2910. I love the tractor. Hard worker. The one delivered yesterday is a bx2200. Now I have two tractors... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Although it is only a day, I have concluded the bx would stay for sure.

Knowing what I know now...well...I'm not sure about the B2910. It is a wonderful tractor for my needs...only 3.7 acres here...but the L3830 in not that much bigger...

Well, here I am asking the question, and my answer is that I just simply don't know what I would do! I suppose after I pinched myself enough I would come back down to earth and stay with the B2910. It sure is nice to dream...but also makes sense to match the tractor to intended use...

So...what would you do????? What do you have now and what would you change, if anything?????

Bill:

I've told you before, sell them both and buy a GrandL. At least a 3130, preferrably a 5030 like mine. I believe you can get zero percent on Grand L's

Henro, Are you thinking about buying another tractor already???? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You would look good on a 3830!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ha, Ha...

Well I'm not...but if I were...I guess the 3830 would be the logical next step above the b2910...

How about you. Would you change anything???

I wish I got the quick detach bucket and forks, plus the back hoe in the original loan... I figured I didn't want to spend the money, but now needs have changed and it would have cost less to have bought everything at once. When the Kubota was purchased the backhoe was a want, three months have changed that. Oh well, thats what the rental store is for.

But it will have to wait now, I need a new crew cab diesel truck first, so I can pull the new toys and people.

I like my B7500 setup a lot, it has done everything I have asked it to so far (but I only have 25hrs. on the meter). The little guy has more power than I thought it would, I found that out reshaping a drainage ditch. I can always borrow my neighbors L3000 if I run into a bigger job.

Would I do anything different?
Maybe buy a little bigger like a 7800 or 2710 that I was looking at just to have the extra power and size

I should have bought something with a wider track, then I wouldn't have had to add the second set of rear wheels. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I'd have bought bigger (probably in the L30 series). But I love my little tractor and now I'm just waiting to be able to afford a second, bigger (but younger) brother /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I can't imagine selling the one I have, considering what I'd get for it.

My little 670 is a perfect size for my 3 acres, but if I had to do it over, I'd of gotten a tractor with independent or live PTO. This would most likely have been a 770 or 790 with a dual stage clutch.

The first tractor I looked at was the Kubota BX2200. Really a great little machine for mowing and enough FEL lift capacity for most homeowners. But the CFO nixed the 12 grand it would have cost.

I do prefer the gear tractors, although a nice hydro machine for the right price would have worked. As I was looking at the small Deeres, a friend with an 855 was thinking about upgrading. He didn't and I bought the 670.

I have 15 acres and a Kioti DK 35.
I got the loader, Bobcat stye quick attach heavy duty bucket, toothbar, 2 sets of hydraulic remotes, hydraulic top link, and recently added a Rhino 85 backhoe.
I finish mow around 6 acres and brush mow the rest and the tractor is perfect for my needs and property size.
Yes I would get the same machine and set up again (I do wish I would have gotten the creeper gear option).
