Been waiting 3 weeks for a powerarc 160. Maybe it will come in next week. And in the mean time a LWS has miller diversions 165 on sale this month for $1200(1199.00). Sure hope this is no prelude to what dealing with everlast be like. Maybe the boat really is on the way, sure hope the wait is worth it.

Contact them. They are nice people. They won't bite (or maybe they just don't bite me)! LOL

That discount on the Diversion is pretty steep. List price is $1750! Mind you, that is still quite a bit more coin than the Everlast PowerTIG 185 IGBT welder which I have. Great comparison of the PowerTIG 185 against the Diversion 165's bigger brother, the Diversion 180 (list $2,337), below.

Tig Welder Demo

Also just noticed that the Diversion 165 isn't dual voltage. A non-starter for me. Everything I've done so far is with 110v and I can take it virtually everywhere and not have to worry about where to plug in but still have access to 220v for full power where it is available.

I've been very happy with my PowerTIG 185 IGBT. The PowerArc 160sth was on my shortlist before I bought my 185. The 160sth is a great welder. You're going to love it.

Cheers!

Price me a power plasma 70 shipped to zip 67035. Convince me why to buy Everlast and not a Miller, ESAB or Lincoln.

Thanks

!

Did contact them, I keep getting told that it is on the the next shipment. Then they say they don't know what is coming on the next shipment until it gets here.

OC3 Yes, the shipments have gotten spread out, or "reorganized" according to what will get placed in the container at the last minute, and the shipping schedule or the containers get separated on separate ships and different routes. It's difficult for us too, especially lately with the increased shipping schedule and our need to have things roll off like clockwork. We get the welders, of course, but getting them here always on time, just in time is a little difficult. It shouldn't be long, but I'll check on the status of when they think the units will ship.

Fastbob,

As far as "convincing you", our customers have spoken on the forum here with plenty of "convincing" for us, but I'd be the first to admit, we aren't a perfect company, if that is what you are looking for. I hate to try to "convince" anyone if they feel like they need to be convinced, because that is a catch 22. A customer needs to be convinced himself to buy by his research and not by me. I "facilitate" the sale by giving information about the product, and taking orders. If you aren't convinced, I won't try to convince you because that is the surest recipe for buyer's remorse...which I don't want you to have. As far as the PP70, it is a unit that is sort of caught in between the PP60 and PP80 because of it's cutting capacity is sort of at an odd thickness. I'd swing for either the 60 if you are money conscious, or the 80 if you want more power at a small increase in cost.

Thanks for the reply. I asked for a price and you want me to make a different equipment selection? Looks like Everlast won't be on my shopping list. Thanks Again.

FastBob,
A price is not a problem, but that is handled via pm, phone call or email not in the forum. But a case in point, as why to why I went out of my way to answer in this discussion re: the buyers remorse. A customer easily turned off by an honest answer about the better 2 choices available and a thing like this would indeed be the last one I'd like to try to convince. Not my first rodeo on this type of question...and is the reason I answered the way I did. And my suspicions about the questions were confirmed with your answer I think. The lack of graciousness with the way the answer was received, spells out a hair trigger overreaction (and a likely post purchase adversarial relationship with the product. Most people would be interested to know about a better choice.

I make it part of my job to recommend the best product for the customer, as many here can tell you...not just to sell whatever I can make more profit at, or what I am trying to dump. Many times customers want to buy things that they are not fully aware of the broader situation or don't have the knowledge of details that I have retained in my skull after 4 years of dealing with this product. IF I told you that the PP70 would be discontinued (it is not btw), would you still wanted me to price a unit that would not any longer be sold? Or if it had reliability issues (which it does not)? Many customers would be glad to know that and have another product recommended. But the reason I told you the better choices, in the absence of any other criteria given by you, is from 4 years of working with and selling this product, combined with thousands of customers purchase decisions, comments, and my long term personal experience with the product as well.

In short, if honesty doesn't convince you, then nothing will. I tried to "convince" you with an honest answer with a choice of a "better" selection, and you rejected the very thing you asked for.

Miller, Lincoln and ESAB DO NOT have a product to compare to in this amp range or price range btw...nor does the omitted Hypertherm or Thermadyne...and if any one of these felt that the 70 amp market was a "better" choice, from their research, then they'd offer one I am sure. It goes back to the very basic thing I said: the 70 amp unit is caught in between on cutting thickness, and the vast majority of plasma needs are either over that or under that. The PP70, while a good unit, does not fit most customers needs. It does fit a small niche though, and is why we keep it on board. It is for people that need a higher duty cycle machine in a 60 amp unit primarily.
