Ignition switch poor design

Well I don't know if the new replacement ignition switches are any different inside (doesn't look any different on the outside) but I hope they are. The design of my ignition switch that failed is lame. There is a center post or peg if you will. Then there is a copper spring mounted plate that connect the BATT terminal to the other terminals when you turn the key. That post or pegs is just PLASTIC! So the thin copper plate cuts into the post & with vibration + turning the key off & on, it wears a deep grove into the post until it gets jambed onto it & the spring doesn't work. DUH!!
So another 250 hours or less & I'lll need another switch. I think for $67 I can find something a lot bettter,..non-oem.
One nice thing though is that the keys were the same for th enew ignition so now I have a bunch of spare keys.

Manufacturers are forcing us to find non-oem alternatives.

I swear I found better in a Cracker Jacks box 50 years ago than some of this junk being manufactured today.

Would this cause an all of a sudden no start and blown 60amp in line fuse? New fuse powers the hazards, but blows as soon as the ignition key is turned.
