Ignition switch removal ford new holland 1920

How is this switch removed? I see two slots 180 degrees apart in the escutcheon that appears to hold the switch or cover something that does. I don't want to bung it up, but it's not clear how to get it off.
I believe the correct part number is SBA385201890 as the machine was made in 1998 according to the serial number.
If you have removed this switch before please let me know how you did it.

the switch on my 1710 has a screw off ring around it.
