IH 1086

Don't know if this is the right website for this large of a tractor. I've got a 1979 IH 1086 and I need to replace the hydraulic pump. It's just about shot. Hydraulics are very slow. Mechanic said that's what's wrong with it but I'd like to know how hard of a job it is to do. I'd like to do it myself. Anyone know how to do this or can point me towards webforum where I could get help? Thank you.
