IH 260A
Hi all,

I have an IH 260A that is giving me some problems with the hydraulics.

I had a cylinder cap failure and lost most of the fluid. Repaired the cylinder, filled up with oil, ran the cylinders in the system, refilled, repeat.

The hydraulic system was whining as I think it may have been pulling air, but I believed that there was enough oil in the system.

The hydrostatic transmission wouldn't work unless the backhoe cylinders were retracted, indicating it needed more oil.

The hydrostatic transmission began to work and the hydraulics were working a little, but still whining a little.

Now the hydraulics have completely stopped working however, the tranny is running fine.

Due to weather and ice here, I managed to get the backhoe stuck and now I can't even used the backhoe attachment to pull the tractor out...

Would it be possible for the tranny to work perfect and then not have any hydraulic power in the rest of the system? What would the typical reservoir size be for something like this? It has a dipstick, but it shows ok oil level.

Thanks!
