IH 674 diesel, Bypassing alternator safty switch

Hi guys... Few days ago I burnt my alternator because of a live wire touching frame,and seems to of burnt my safety switch/resistor as well, I bought a new alternator and its not charging, i want to run the small wire to my key switch and the big wire to pos of battery, My question... With a test light, Do i pick the wire that lights my test light with key "on" or key "turned" all the way, I have no glow plugs on this tractor. thx for any help

Wire diagrams found, I think I burnt the resistor/diode, I just want to bypass it, Alternator shop told me to run the small wire to key switch, I guess I can try and find the diode/resistor and just bypass it.

Should I place a 12 volt bulb going to ignition that's what alternator shop recommended, It will act like a fuse as well? is it safe to strait pipe it?

Bypassed the red light integrator for charging and its now works . :dance1: Don't really need it because I have a volt meter in the dash. Plus can't find one online
