Last Thurs. I sat 8 tires on my workbench along with some 18Ga. sheet metal. I also had 3 dozen photos in my I-phone saved and two line drawings. Here is what I have ended up with so far. I am pleased how it is starting to take some shape. Still got a ways to go but I can see hope for it. That forward mounted cab design was a little tricky and making it solid to the rear frame was interesting . But now I can pick it up and carry it around by the front bumper with no worries. I may work on this one more week and then set it aside and start one more model before I go back and start finishing all five projects. I am really enjoying time in the shop again building models.

Do you just go off of pictures, or do you also take some measurements for scale?

Much of the model building is done from photos of the machine. If I find a brochure and get the width , height and length that is very helpful.

I actually drove a real one and the front wheels steer just fine with the duel wheels.

This is a great thread, reminds me of Bfreaky's thread on his backhoe builds, some of you guys have amazing skills. I feel lucky to do oil changes and brakes.
