There is an old saying in Illinois that if you don't like the weather just wait because it will change tomorrow. That was the almost the case today only it changed all day long. This morning temps were in the mid to upper 40's not bad for January 29th, sun even came out for a while. Light jacket weather. Then it clouded over and rained in buckets for a little while with a few claps of thunder and lightening. About an hour or so so later temps start dropping fast and rain turns to sleet, which turns to freezing rain, which turns to snow with high winds, and in some places near zero visability. Just to the south of me they were talking severe thunder storms with a tornado watch in effect followed by freezing rain and colder temps. Thursday we are to get 4 to 6 inches of snow and by Monday rain and temps in the 40's. Sounds like good cold and flu weather.

I love Illinois we get to enjoy all types of weather.
Did you steal that quote from Michigans weather,LOL.coobie

More strange Illinois weather. Thursday afternoon it starts snowing and by noon Friday we have 9 inches of snow. Saturday warmer temps snow is melting. Sunday during Super Bowl Thunderstorms with loud thunder and lighting, kept knocking out my satellite. Monday real bad fog, temps up around 50. We are under the following watches, severe thunderstorm watch, flood watch, and a fog advisory. Snow is nearly all gone.

Lets see

we push out of the gate at phl (but I didnt see any conveyor belt I don't know how we'll take off with out it?) and wait almost 2 hrs to take off o'hara was closed and we had to wait to land, and I even got my lugage.

Then I get rental car and find they don't plow roads on sunday nights (my opinion). and take 1 1/2 hour to go 20 miles

I hate winter road trips!!!

Looks like some more of that Illinois weather. We had ice most of the morning and all afternoon into the evening.

Predictions are for snow to start after midnight with more than 10". Then snow falling until noon with high winds all day.

I was in Springfield last week for the heavy snow fall. I'm beginning to think this bad weather follows me.

we had 6" of snow on the ground sunday morning.

this morning i dumped the rain gauge that held 2.5". Its rained like mad this afternoon and evening.

at 9 this evening i dumped it again. another 2.5"

there are more than a few culverts plugged up from snow and leaves leading to flooded ditches that overflow onto the roads.

not fun

We are flooded here, not sure how much rain we had but a lot with last nights thunderstorm. It is snowing out now and getting kinda slick in places. A little town to the north of me was rescuing people last night from cars in deep water and had to evacuate a apartment complex for the elderly last night because water was coming in their homes.
