I\'m a newbie!

I just bought a new BX1800 with 54" MMM and FEL from my local dealer, Townline Equipment in Plainfield, NH. Bob, the owner, was GREAT to deal with. I had looked at John Deere, but they didn't make a subcompact with four-wheel drive. So, I settled on the Kubota. So far, I've had it 3 days and LOVE it. I've had it stuck in the mud already.... That was on day 1. I put on tire chains and a welded cutting edge on the bucket to do the paved driveway that's about 150 yards long and all up hill. We are supposed to get snow tonight, but the forecast here in Vermont has changed from 8+ inched to probably only one or two. What a bummer!!

Re: I\'m a newbie!

balchy,

what did you compare to before purchasing your BX? JD has the 4100. What helped in your decision to purchase the BX1800, and why not the BX2200? I'm in the same boat as you!

Re: I\'m a newbie!

We looked at the John Deere 400 series and the 4100, but they were all too much money and too big to do our lawn. You had to order options to get the same thing you got with the Kubota, like the three point hitch and hydrostatic. We looked at the New Holland TC18 and could have gotten a deal through my buddy who is a dealer, but wifey said it was still too big to mow the lawn. The guys at work and my grandfather said that Kubotas were the best. I got the BX1800 over the BX2200 because I talked to several people in this area who had the 1800 and they loved them. Plenty of power to do all that I wanted the tractor to do! And it was less money. NOt much, but enough. Good luck!

Re: I\'m a newbie!

I wish to congratulate you on the purchase. I sure do like mine. I know, like me, you will find you can use the FEL to unload groceries.

This cat not doing a snow dance and also trying to keep the snow valve close after last winter./w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif I decide not to plow the 4" do to the ground not frozen yet,and after looking at others drivesways which gravel and lawn truf plow up it was a wise choice.
The weather channel said it going to warm up and rain 50's/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gifand I'll take that anyday after last winter.
