I have a questions and I'm sure someone has an answer. First of all my hydraulic pump seems to be making a ticking noise on my 2008 L5240 Kubota. It's quite loud in the cold weather in particular but I noticed it in the summer as well. In the fall I drained all the fluids and replaced all the filters. It didn't seem to make much difference to the hydraulic pump noise that I've been hearing. I'm worried it will be a big expense.
I'm always impressed with how much knowledge people are willing to share on this app.

It could be. Aluminum housing pumps are prone to fail where shaft bearings are seated into them. Could be the bearing starting to move around. I have replaced 2 aluminum housing pumps for that reason.
Next time you drain, check for metallic particles or send sample to check for bearing material.

Not just good advice but humorous as well. I'll screen shot the responses and ask my mechanic friend what he thinks. The barn is a great spot to hold Pony club and 4-H events and birthday parties, otherwise rarely see a human or animal for that matter.View attachment 778109
