I need to carve out some lots in dense woods. The trees (up to 20") are mostly pines with some hardwood. The JD 135C is about 15 tons and seems beefy enough to knock down and dig out the the trees. I will use my compact track machine to carry the trees to the burn pile. Does this excavator sound big enough to handle the job?

Nice looking machine. It can knock down trees with a little digging first.

It will not rip out a large tree like you pull a weed.

It will take a few minutes work to get a decent stump out.

It sure will beat a tractor or a skid steer.

It will dig foundations and be large enough to load trucks and do a septic.

If you are in the land clearing business, it is too small, but if you clear lots on ocasion, it will be a good all round machine.

PS my excavator is 9 tons and I regret not having a 12-15 ton machine.

I have a hydraulic thumb and front blade and am glad I do.
