I'm in need of a 4255 wiring diagram please.

I just got my tractor home from local JD dealer. I had the dealer perform an in-frame overhaul. As it turns out the liner o-rings were faulty not the liners but new liners/pistons were installed. But it's after closing time & the AC comp,fuel gauge & speed-hour meter which were operable now are not operable. I had plans to bale hay Monday so I would like to sort this out ASAP. I have a tech manual #1458 for my tractor but it doesn't contain a wiring diagram.

Knowing just a little bit about you, I suspect when you were the service manager and something like this happened to your customer, you would want a phone call letting you know even on the weekend, so you could get the wiring diagram off the Deere system for that customer.. just sayin..
Give them a call..

Thanks for reply. May I ask how would you call the service manager after-hours? I know part dept was accessible after-hours but I was unaware service dept was available. Service manager was ""off yesterday"" when I received my tractor. I did send the service manager an email @ 3:28 PM yesterday but I haven't received a reply at this time. I also realize when repairs are performed things just coincidentally happen. I plan to check bulkhead wiring this afternoon when another person arrives to help raise the hood. It sucks being disabled & attempting to do repairs but life is what it is.

Yes, life is what it is.. @ 80+ I'm finding out plenty of things that take some additional maneuvering to getRdun. Do hope you track it down before the hay baling time is to happen.
Sounds like you are not letting the disability stop you from completely. Good luck with the hay. And thanks for lending your experience and knowledge to the forum. I've learned a lot from you, and know TBN is a better place for it as well.

I am guessing you will find a connector that did not get reconnected, maybe not in plain sight. Good luck finding the problem. I hope it's not worse, like a pinched wire(s) or cut wiring harness.

Hood does not sound like a one man job on that size tractor.

Thank you both. I talked to the service manager on the phone. He is baling hay today but assured me he'd send me a copy of the wiring diagram tomorrow. I agree I think it's unplugged connections or broken wires. After all the wires are only 39 yrs old. Thanks for support. I'm slowing down but not ready to quirt baling hay.

I would remove the hood and check connectors in front of bulkhead on right side. My guess is one is not plugged in properly.

Thanks for reply we removed hood yesterday & didn't locate any wiring problem. I briefly hot wired the AC compressor & both AC gauges were in operating range & blower blew cold air. I realize hot wiring compressor eliminates the high/low pressure switches plus the thermostat. Would it be "too risky for compressor" to operate AC system with the compressor hot wired for 4 or 5 hrs baling hay?? I think during normal Texas 90+° summer day compressor doesn't ever "cycle off when wired correctly via thermostat".

The low pressure switch is to protect the compressor if the system is low on Freon. IIRC the high is for system blockage/too much Freon. You should be OK.

If you notice lack of cooling, it might be the evaporator is icing up and you should shut down the compressor to let the ice melt (should not take long) then hot wire back up and see if it start cooling.
