Re: I'm sittiin on a fortune!

Oddly, yep. I see a lot of boulders at nicer homes. If you ever see the prices on them you nearly stroke.

I have a very large (boulder) pudding stone on my property. Some day I am going to go dig it out and sell it.

Kinda like money in the bank...just a wee bit more difficult to withdrawal

Re: I'm sittiin on a fortune!

I tried to sell some once with no takers. It’s a lot harder to sell them in an area full of them. I think you need to load them on a truck and send them off if you actually want to get any money from them. IMG_4576.JPGIMG_4577.JPG

The hill I'm on is mostly red rock gravel. It may be worth more as a gravel pit than a home site.

Gravel is worth a lot more than the useless bolders. There’s several gravel mines here but it’s still expensive.

Holy Cow!
I had no idea -
Rock boulders for sale - farm & garden - by owner - sale

I'm sitting on a fortune.
Is there a market for this?

If you plan on delivering and placing stones for homeowners you might get that price. And if you do it legit then you need commercial insurance for your truck, liability insurance for your business while doing work at a customers site, a truck and flatbed capable of towing a machine to move these rocks,...

You need to sell a lot of rocks now just to cover the costs for all that overhead. Mind as well become a landscaper so you can work 60+ hours a week earn enough for a return on that equipment you are paying for. Wait - where did all these other landscapers suddenly come from? Holy cow they are under cutting me because two Bob's and a truck landscaping don't carry insurance...

Had some dirt moved on my property. That unearthed 3 "boulders" that could have been lifted by my little 24 horse SCUT. Earth mover guy asked me where I wanted them placed. He was surprised when I said I did not want them. He took them. I bet he knew exactly who he was going to sell them to.

Someone stole most of my stash of basketball size rocks.

A friend has a business selling large boulders. He drives out west with a semi and flatbed on vacation and brings back rocks to sell.

Some of you may not believe that so here is his web site.

Sadly I’ve never had anyone stealing my rocks. I was asking $200 for all of the ones in my 2 pictures above and that was with me loading them. The problem was those were a couple tons a piece.
