Last time I checked at the nursery, rocks - river rock size, were going for 9-cents/pound. I wouldn't even want to guess how much they'd cost delivered and placed.

Like so many others, I spent part of my youth picking rocks out of fields. Then I did a stint working for a landscaper, and not only got paid to put rocks back in the gardens, but was amazed at the amount of money people were paying.
My father got tired of mowing around a rock which was sticking up into the lawn slightly, so went at it with his 1010 JD crawler. He managed to get it out of the ground but then had no place to go with it . So he dug up the ground in front of it and it became the backdrop for a flower garden.

Designer or pedigree rocks you can put an extra '0" at the end of the price.
Friend of mine cleans up where marble is laser cut for headstones, he sells it for driveways, a nice size marble gravel, he removes it for nothing and everyone is happy.

crap! I missed the market. Here in my area we only have STONE, or LEDGE. Both cost real money to move, More $$ to get it hauled away.

I've found my purpose in life however just "repositioning" the smaller stone from one area of the property to where ever SWMBO wants them. ;-)
A tractor with a loader really helps, But at times, the 3 point is the only tool capable of the task. STONE is heavy, Ledge is even heavier!
