I\'m sure this is in the wrong forum . But,

I can't think of the right forum to post this /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Anyways , I'm about to recieve my new tractor . The down side is that it will have to help build its own shelter . In the mean time I'd like to try and protect it from the elements as much as I can . Does anyone make a cover simular to a car cover for tractors ? Thanks , John

Re: I\'m sure this is in the wrong forum . But,

I would think a big enough tarp would do the job.

Otherwise, I've seen a lot of these shelters around that consist of steel poles with some kind of tarp type roof. They are available as kits. Don't know how much they cost, but I can't imagine it's much and they'd make a nice temp shelter.

Re: I\'m sure this is in the wrong forum . But,

Not sure why they moved it. Seemed to be the right place to me...

Anyway, I bought a King Canopy for my 'Bota. This is a shelter made from heavy nylon tarp and steel poles. It went up very easy and provided a good deal of protection - well at least until the hurricane came through! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Now it's just so much torn tarp and bent poles. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I'm not sure that I'll replace it with the same. Seems the wind blows pretty hard where I've got it located. Of course, if I'm trying to work on the new house I can't get a simple breeze for love or money. But let me leave for the week and whamo - gale force winds tear the hut to shreads. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

It's not really a question of right or wrong forum. Rather where will a post, particularly a question, result in the most answers/replies. A judgement call, based upon experience, to be sure. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: I\'m sure this is in the wrong forum . But,

I bought a large tarp and use bungee cords to hold it on. Works great. Am still looking for a reasonable permanent solution.

They make those temporary garages out of vinyl. About $600. Cabelas has them. Dave

Around here you can buy a metal car port for around $800 maybe $900.. If anchord properly they will take 50-60 MPH wind. First hand expierence..

I think there is a picture of the one at our model airplane flying field at www.tulsacl.com

Yep, click on the Field button..

Re: I\'m sure this is in the wrong forum . But,

Bob, I've been considering one of those for a carport. There are several here in the mobile home park. I've found that if you get away from the big city, you'll find lots of them for $595 in this general area, but I haven't found anyone on the Internet that sells them in this area. However I did find one company that sells them here for just under $800, but you'll notice the "eaves" on the side are 5' high. There are quite a number of similar ones around, but with heavier frame, eaves 6' high and a gable at one end. Trouble is they want $1,700 for that better one. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: I\'m sure this is in the wrong forum . But,

You can get a frame that has a canvas cover at Sam's for I think around $200. Then I have heard that K-Mart has one with sides for about the same price. It would probably do till you got something built.

Re: I\'m sure this is in the wrong forum . But,

Bird, I have one of the ones they sell for $595, I had to pay $695 when I got mine, I think it was about 6 months later they came down the hundred dollars. But it protects my two cars fine, keeps most of the rain off, unless its blowing. And most of the sun. I have the important stuff in the garage, like my tools and tractor, lol.
