I reread what I posted... seems like I didn't really build a compressor.... but put one together as a factory kit....cause first off I didn't build the compressor nor the electric motor to run it.....nor did I build the tank/controls e.t.c.....with all said...this is the most interesting part of TractorByNet I follow most often...... great stuff..... great ideas....the machinery an stuff I see built from scratch on here just amazes me....and I wonder why some of you guys are not owning and runnin' large factories instead of just bein' an employee.... well anyhow..... my way of sayin' Thanks ever so much to all...... and take care......Ampa:........thumbsup:

Ampa look on your compressor pulley and you should find an arrow cast into the vanes. You could swap sides of the compressor the motor is on and it would not change the direction however changing the orientation would.

I am curious though 11cfm pump aughta pump up a 10lb tank pretty fast. My 17 cfm pumps my 60 gallon up from 0-150 in just over 1 min,,

Lets see some pix,,, Gotta show your handi work. :)

Rio Grande....I'm not too sure anyone want to to see my handi work....would you believe I built the frame out of some old bed frame angle iron....my first shot at welding with that Lincoln 115 volt DC wire feed welder is nothin' to write home about.....I could have brazed it with my portable Oxy/Acc and made better 4 sure....main thing is seems it's holding up okay....I like pics as well.....not too sure how to post them though....my experience with my computer sucks as well....need lessons in this area to...never thought to look for that darn arrow though... they claim it should run counterclock wise which it is viewing the backside like yours is in the pic.... is there any problem runnin' the wrong direction.....sometimes you can change motor direction by changing the - + around.....the only other option is redo the whole frame all over again....it does pump up alot faster than the little CH.....my suction type pail sandblaster only calls for around 7 cfm...so I should be good to go....my large sandblast cabinet calls for more than 7cfm....even though it's a suction type as well......I'm thinkin' of tryin' one of those digital type pressure regulators that run off a battery...know anything about these ?.....anyhow thanks for gettin' back to me and and don't forget to include that lesson on pic uploadin'..... Thanks a bunch....take care....Ampa

Just so you know with that pulley you will only get around 65% (7-8cfm)of the pumps max output. if you need more air you can just get a bigger pulley.

I went checking out compressors yesterday at Princess Auto.....and satisfied with what I saw there...... were....factory compressors with pumps around the same cfm output as mine all running counterclock wise (<- arrow using the same 12" pump pullley) 1.9 hp 115 volt electric motors....a 04 point more hp than mine.....the motor pulley looked to be around 2 1/2" compared to my 3 1/2 and assuming the same pump as mine running @ 1400 rpm......I also bought the digital air control valve ( *made in China ) on sale for $15.99 reg price $29.99 cdn........nice small unit....only reads out for a short while....I guess to save battery power....I assume it uses a round watch type.....must be a throw away meter as I couldn't see where it comes apart to change the I assume small battery....but the readout is steady....I'm quite sure if the battery goes dead.....PA will exchange it free of charge as long as I keep the original reciept....which I always do....anyhow Payton....I'll just leave it as is and try it on my fairly large sandblaster cabinet......and once again thanks for everyones replies relating to my compressor and take care.....Ampa :)
