Anyone have one of these or seen one (it was in the latest issue of the JD Homestead magazine)? Do they really work and what is the cost being quoted?

I'd love to have something to make the connections easier - the knuckle on the MX6 connection is a bear with the hoods in place over the rear PTO on my 4600...

Thanks!

You mean it attaches the PTO shaft automatically?

I had spoke with a dealer a couple of months ago and he told me about the auto I-Match. The way it works it you have to buy an adapter for each implement that you want to use the auto I-Match on. Once it is set up you will be able to hook up the implement and PTO without leaving the seat.

I figured there was some kind of money catch to it. Those telescoping draft links work awfully well.

There's always money involved - or they wouldn't bother with it in the first place. ;)

I'd like to hear from someone who has one. BTW, dirtsworksequip, did the dealer say how much the units and adapters cost?

No, the dealer did not say what it would cost or what the adapters would be to change over other implements. All he gave me was a breif discription as to how it would work and that it should be out sometime this Spring.

My dealer told me awhile back that he thought the hitch was going to be around $750. He did not know the cost of the adapters at that time.

Anybody know if this is an upgrade for an I-match or a complete replacement? I love my I-match - makes things easy for old farts like me. If I can add this to mine that would be great, but starting all over again is not an exciting thought.

I had heard that Deere was working on this concept but the issue of Homestead magazine that I received in the mail today is the first that I have actually seen what it may look like.

I think that it is interesting that the John Deere marketing machine needed to rely on CAD drawing to demonstrated the concept in print. The AutoHitch is probably one of those things virtually impossible to convey in photos...you have to use one to appreciate it.

Papafoxtrot, here is an answer to your question from Deere's ad:
"Ask your John Deere dealer about retrofitting your compact utility tractor and implements with an iMatch AutoHitch, today."
It appears from the photos and sounds from the text like you could add it to your existing iMatch and implements. Pretty cool...if it really works.

I saw an add for this today in a John Deere magazine I received. Looks very interesting.

PTO Shaft assembly mounts to the top of the I-match hitch and has an engagement lever that extends up from there.

papafox, I would think that you would be able to buy the parts to change over your current I-Match to the auto hitch. Of course it probably will not be cheap. And I could be totally wrong and you would have to buy a whole new I-Match auto. Just have to ask around the dealers or wait till they come out.

from the add I saw, I would have to say that the autohitch can be added to existing I-match hitches. they were displayed separately and from the pictures looks like it just clamps to the hitch.
