I think that tractor should pull any 6' mower, but there are caveats about 7 footers.

Some medium and heavy duty 7 footers have massive blades, and weigh ~900 Lbs. The tractor would run them, but they would be right on the edge HP and weight-wise. I think heavy, knee-high grass would have to be cut in a very low gear. I think a 6 footer would be a better match, and the TC45 should pull even a real heavy one.

Weight-wise, a 6 foot 700 Lb brush hog is right on the edge unless you have a FEL or front weights. I guess a 900 LB 7 footer might require both.

Hmm.. I'm hving a hard time seeing a tc45 'struggle' with a 700# mower. My 8n lifts an 800# disc with nothing more than a front bumper for front weight.. and that's an old 1952 gasser with a massive 27 hp engine and 2.85gpm/1700 psi belly hyd pump.. etc..

my BB600 weighs 1,000 # and I have no trouble with it. UNLESS I take the fel off then it gets a little light in the front.

On my TC40 I am running a BushHog 84T which is a light duty twin spindle and there is absolutly no issues running it with my TC40. I believe it weighs in at 700+ lbs. A fair amount of property I cut is very hilly (15 degree on the meter when going across) and it pull it up without any sign of bogging. I have been cutting with the fel on but the bucket is removed.

As previously stated I'm running a twin spindle 8 ft Kodiak rotary cutter weighting 1,125 pounds. No problems at all with FEL installed, no bucket.

My old Rhino SE-7 weighted (I believe) 1,037 pounds and it was really unstable. Of course the Rhino being a single spindle was over 3 feet longer than the Kodiak.

Maybe my TC35 is a little lighter in the front end than a TC45, but my 700# BB72 makes it pop wheelies without the FEL. I think I could pick up a 1000# brush hog, but would have to add front weights.

I totally agree SG, and that's basically what I meant. A 6 foot 700-900 LB cutter is an excellent match for the TC45. It's the 7' 1000+ pounders that would worry me.

@GATC45: That's exactly what I'm talking about. A 7 foot single blade brush hog sticks out a long way back there. I guess a HD 7 footer would be right on the maximum for the TC45.
