This is probably an unusual way to build a building...but it's working out OK for me so far. I wanted a building to store my implements (or at least most of them) out of the weather. I bought 4 pallet racks from a place going out of business and used this for my framework. I shot some 2-by nailers on it and am siding it with pine boards and battens. The roof is a corrugated material from Lowes. The building turns out to be two bays, 12 feet wide each and 12 high in the front. The building is 10 feet deep. I have a pallet rack shelf in the back. This will allow me to fork up my lighter implements while parking the larger ones below/underneath it. I also have a high shelf in the front over the door openings to allow storage of light stuff.
I bought the pallet racks, the 2x4 nailers, and the 2x8 rafters from the place going out of business for less than $500 total. The pine cost me $300 and the roofing was right around $300 if I remember.
My pictures are way behind, but this shows some of the framing. I have the roofing and about 1/3 of the siding on at this point.
