Just a reminder - make sure your slip clutches on your implements are working correctly, before you head to the field this spring. I do some shop work for my neighbors and see lots of damage that could have been prevented. Just something I was thinking about......

You said the clutch should be on the implement end? I have seen so many on the pto shaft?

Are you sure you weren't looking at an "over-running clutch"
slip clutch should be on the implement end.

A slip clutch to protect the implement and drive line is always on the implement end of the shaft. A override clutch used where a tractor does not have "live" PTO is always on the tractor. If a implement has a torque limiter clutch (such as a hay tedder) that type clutch is also on the implement end of the shaft. Ken Sweet

Ken thanks for the reminder. I was wondering, given your long experience how do you free and reset slip clutches? I never have a problem braking loose the clutch plates, I am just never sure I have reset the spring tension properly.
