What I am confused about is, in normal circumstances based on the cost of the product, quality of the product differes, now why is the 5' rear blade cost I have see ranging from $169 all the way up to $550 add shipping or go to store depending on the place you buy.

Agrifarm has $169 and if you want it shipped $319 not how is quality difference between this and expensive once. Is it like low end Kia to Cadilac. What are you experience, just wanted an idea and thoughts.

Ganesh, the differing prices is part of life. Some times, the same product, or virtually similar implement varies in price as much as 25% depending on the seller. Thus, we shop around.

However, often the implement is not the same. As your eye gets tuned in, you will learn to see the differences in quality that make the price vary. Obviously, the $200 blade isn't going likely to be the same quality as the $600 blade, for example. But sometimes, the $250 blade is the same or virtually the same as the $350 blade and that is where shopping around comes in.

Through experience you will find the right balance between lower priced things and higher priced things. If you bust it up, it was too cheapie!! If it only gets used once or twice a year, spending big bucks on an implement is questionable stewardship. There is no simple answer to your conundrum.

In my opinion, weight is one of the major determining factors in tractors and implements. Compare two equally advertised products and one weighs a few hundred pounds more or even 100lbs more, there is a difference in quality, I guarantee you.
I used to tell my brother to buy the cheapest tool he could find because he didn't use them, he just had them to be a "man". He later in life started using tools so I have changed my advise to him and now tell him to buy good quality tools. Same with implements, $300 for an implement vs $500 seems like quite a difference but you get the cheapo out on a hard job and it falls to pieces, you've blown $300.
I bought a cheap $1200 RFM and after a year it had broke 2 or 3 times. I talked to Steve Barlow and he told me he'd give me my $1200 back to apply to the $1700 Landpride. Another reason I buy from Barlows. The cheap one was "pretty" and the Landpride is a tank.

Hi All

I live Fairfax, VA. I am trying to buy box blade, sub soiler and rear blade. All the places they sell have huge shipping costs. I called Northern tools they said they can ship to home or their own shop still I have to pay shipping. How did you guys manage to get that many implements. There is a place Sweettractor.com. They rear blade for 199 bucks but shipping to business is 139 and 179 to house

Well I am disappointed by the prices of shipping, what to do

Ganesh

Well I just MapQuested at 903.3 miles away so you have my attention.

Shipping still has to be paid at some point, so is it already built in to the prices of the equipment?

Well I agree, finally I determined shipping is somehow included whatever marketing claims are. I bought from TSC big box at store for 5' rear blade paid $319, Agrisupply I can buy in store for $260, but with shipping $380, but everythingattachments , with free shipping $404.00 and I dont have terminal or business so I will be paying shipping for it.

I agree quality part of it but after I saw my TSC blade it is very good quality made by countyline and dont think I need anything more for my BX1860. I am guy buy Ingresolrand for air compressors and some openend wrenches, welding carts from HF. I sure shop around. Heck I wont buy Parachute from HF.

Still shipping is killing me
