Maybe you got hit by a suicidal humming bird......??? Alien spacecraft from a race of micro sized galactic explorers, on their decent to meet and greet the human race......????? [ glass can do this just from temp change.... sun, etc... ]

Good ideas!! there is nothing new with the windows blowing out for the price of the glass I'm glad it doesn't happen more. We have seen this with the window glass ever since they stopped putting full steel frames around them on tractors.

Steel frames doesn't stop the windows from exploding. Many yrs back(before'93) I was driving my JD 4240 down a lonesome country road and the RH windshield just exploded with a BAM(no bullet holes either). Do-Do happens!!

It doesn't take a whole lot to make tempered glass explode, and you often can't tell which direction the damage came from. We had the passenger window of our SUV blow outward from a rock strike on the outside (kicked up by a tractor trailer). It pretty much blew out like a cloud of smoke. Some glass did get inside, but the bulk went outside and then some down inside the door. The whole side of the car was scratched up from the flying glass. That was mid-winter going 75mph on the highway, so it was a cold ride after that. Fun.

Check the seal area for anything pointed. A spot weld that is rough could do it. Tempered glass is not strong on the edges.

Yes tempered glass if stressed and poor fit such that seal didn't allow movement could 'explode' with due to thermal expansion coefficient different than that of frame and a little shock applied. It is not forgiving. Windshield glass can also crack just using a fast curing (high exothermic) adhesive say to mount a 'tombstone' fitting such as that of a rear view mirror or instrument gauges. It can cause a local severe stress gradient. Then just normal temperature change can cause a crack. I speak from multiple experiences. :ashamed:

Were you in the vicinity of any pallets stacked in an inverted V formation? That would explain it all. When in the vicinity of inverted V pallets, glass implodes.

I hate to admit this but... no I didn't take this into consideration in my case. But my longitude is off significantly from sparc.

Since the TBN network was made aware of the pallet phenomenon, all troubleshooting must take pallets into consideration.

Im looking for a replacement window for my 3030 cab pass side. Would anyone now were to get on. Or do I need to go through the dealer.
