<font color="blue"> I am interested in importing a Jinma tractor myself to get the cost down. Any information on importing would be appreciated. How much will shipping be? Are there any customs charges/fees? What are some potential problems associated with actually getting the tractor? Also, most importantly, does anybody have any suggestions or recommendations on a company to purchase/import the tractor from?

Hey WhitePine,
Go over to "NYCTO" Forum, and talk with JohnS. I think that he may have done this and he is one of the moderators at that forum.
John also has a website, but the forum is where you can talk with him direct.
If you do decide to go through with the self importing, I would strongly suggest that you get some references, from the company that you select, and talk with their references direct. I have heard of at least one person that had severe transaction problems, in which, they reported that they had given them their money's and did not get a tractor, but I don't have any factual information on the transaction or the final outcome.
You reported that 2 hours away from you seemed to be too far to go. Let me assure you that 2 hours away, if the deal is right, is not too far, and is rather close, when getting a good deal on Chinese Tractors. When I purchased my tractor, I was willing to go 1000 miles away, to get a good deal, but I finally found my best deal, about 70 miles away from me.
I can give you my dealers #, as he is a direct importer, located in Pensacola, Florida, and ships all over the US and Canada. All his tractors are preordered and it takes about 2 months to get your tractor.
Also if you go direct import, I would strongly suggest, that you get your tractor allready assembled and get it set up the way that you want from the getgo. PS, 4Wd, Suspension Seat, Canopy, Etc., your saving thousands, so get all the bells and the whistles, that they Chinese have to offer.
Also do your homework, as to whether you want Creeper Gears or Shuttle shift.
Get your tractors running &
Have a nice day,
