It's a 2013. The guy who bought it seems really nice. He got it in April but he and his wife had their 3rd child shortly after, and his free time went away. He also has an older Masey, and will keep that one. I think this one is may be turning into college funds for the kids. Like I said, he seems like a good guy.

What does that 3540 go for new?

I haven't priced them in a while, but good point. I'll call the dealer tomorrow and ask if they have any in. Kubota has stopped making them and is on the 3560 series now.

Hi Snowed In,
My wife likes the smaller Deere and a zero turn for around the house. That was her vote last night, and she knows it isn't a needed item. It's a luxury. When we lived in Williston, I had a B2710, and we kind of did need that. I think of this Deere as comparable. Heavier, but not really much bigger.

Murph,
I spoke to the Kioti dealer, and he could do 23,800 delivered. Amazing value for that tractor, but I'm still leaning towards the Deere. I figure if the Deere is too small, I can probably sell it in the next year for very close to what I'm paying and get a Kioti. Not sure I could do the reverse as easily around here.

I've always said that the ladies love the green paint:cool2:

Next year I doubt there will be any new tier III DKs left.

Get what is going to make you and your Wife happy.

Lol....nice! My buddy has a Deere, but his wife hates the greene so much that recently she saw a Kubota for sale, and told him to go take a look at it!

I personally like orange. It's easier to find in the dark and safer on the road, but, I don't really care either way.

Murph,
There are no more L3540 available new in my area. I called 5 dealers, and they have almost no Lxx40 series left in any size. Based on what the dealers I called said, an L3540 would have been a touch less than a Deere3520 new. I think they were a better value than the Deere 3520, but Deere's pricing structure is geared to farmers, government contracts, and non-profits. Those all qualify for discounts, and lower dealer costs. The new Kubota L3560 is is more than the Deere, and the new Kioti line will be about there for a 45hp tractor. The new Kioti line looks nice.

I bought the 3520 today. Now she has 10 hours on her from loading and moving around.

However, I will never trailer a tractor that size with just a Chevy Trailblazer again!
275 miles took 5 1/2 hours with just the trailer.
It took 8 1/2 hours with the tractor in flurries/fog/and rain. It has the larger R4 tires, and they are loaded with glycol. How much weight does that add? Clearly too much for me to tow comfortably.

It was far heavier than I was comfortable towing, but at least traffic was already going slow due to the weather. I averaged 35mph, and never broke 52 even in the 70mph places.
