In Connecticut, buy Case IH instead of New Holland

We all know the dealer makes all the difference. Woodbury Tractor has Case IH now. Great dealer with a great product.

Well, that's what I did. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif A new Case DX 24E, FEL, 60" mmm, snowblower. 0% for three years, out the door $16,370. I shopped this to death, compared everything I could think of, it just came down to small differences. Blue, red, orange, not a lemon in the bunch. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gifThe NH was the most expensive of the bunch. Red and orange were neck and neck. The deciding factor was Bob Wolff at Woodbury tractor. The other dealers I contacted were very helpfull for the most part, just that Bob is 20 min. up the road. Got the feeling he's in it for the long haul, put his $ where the mouth is. I'll post some pix when it arrives. Joe

front or rear mount snow blower?

Front mount snowblower. I was very tempted by a rear mount, the price difference is considerable. We went with the front mount because my wife will be operating the tractor/blower combo sometimes. No way she is comfortable with the rear mount, that nailed it. My immediate neighbor has a BX2230 with a four way front blade, I am thinking I might be able to hitch that up to my Case to try it out. Bob Wolff tells me many of the attachments are by the same mfgr. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gifso perhaps that would work. Any thoughts on that? Joe

Hey Joe,

As soon as you get your machine in, check the main black hydraulic line that runs from the loader control, down under the foot deck. A few of us (both Case and NH) sub owners have found the forward/reverse pedals rubbing through that hose. I think the mfr's assembly instructions tell the prep guys how to zip-tie the hose to the pedals, and it has caused problems in a few instances.

My dealer just fixed it (guess they just cut the zip ties). I thought they were going to completely re-route it. It seems like it should be fine now, but I may go get some rubber coolant hose and sheath the hyd. hose, just to be sure it doesn't get damaged again.
