Given the tractor that you have, I would say to look at a tractor salvage yard. Get the hoe that originally came with that tractor. It shouldn't be any more costly and would be ten times the hoe.

Please let us know how this works out for you.

At 5000 less than a Woods Ground Breaker X and 3000-4000 less than the Mahindra model sized for my tractor it would make the back hoe purchase a little more bearable.

I've heard lots of safety warnings about 3 pt. Backhoes but I suspect if you are reasonable in the strains you put on the system then you should be able to get some good results.

Considering I have no real "need" for a backhoe but would love to have one for tooling around and digging the occasional ditch then something like this might be a good option.

Keep us posted on how it works out - please.

I paid $4800 for my 7' Deere 47 Backhoe. New with a 2 year warranty. Installed by the dealer. It is one fine piece of machinery. It goes on or off in 5 minutes. It fits amazingly well.

I have looked at the 'cheapo' units, and would gladly pay the difference anyday.

You can price name brand units to make a no name one sound like a bargain. But shop around and you might be surprised at the deal you can get on a new or nearly new unit that will work rings around one that is merely cheap.

Well been busy lately finally got it and have used it to dig a 6-7 holes following a pipe hopeing it led to a septic system. and I dug the rough in electrical trench 3 feet deep by 7 feet long. I have not used any other hoe so I don't know what to compare it too. Total cost was $2650 for the unit, shipping and to have hoses made up. I used the power beyond on my loader vavle and the crank driven pump that supposedly puts about 17 gpm at 2000 rpms. So I run the hoe at about 8-900 rpms.

I think it works pretty good, its smooth and has a good power, the assembly was pretty easy it came with spare pins and the metal looks as thick as the $5000 units I saw locally. It took me a while to get coordinated but once I got it down I could dig a good sized hole pretty quick.

The only thing that I have to say negative is the use of the 3 point mount. I was warned, it bounces around a lot and when/if I have time I would really like to hardmount it. or at least find a good way to tie down my 3 point.
