Looks like this is predicted to become a hurricane and run right over us. Got everything battened down as good as I could. Filled several 5 gallon jugs with water and the spare bathtub. Maybe it won't be too bad or have power out too long.

Sorry to hear it is heading your way. Be very careful and prepared for anything. Will be praying for you.

They just took us off the Watch list (Marion County), so I'm happy for that. My biggest problem is the 1.8 mile dirt road to my property (I'm last on my road) is already looking pretty choppy from the little bit of rain we've had the past few days. I guess I'll have some quality time with my drag chain later this weekend.

I know how you feel. Been in that situation many times. Stay safe.....

We'll certainly be praying for you, too.

I sure sympathize with those living in hurricane prone areas; scary stuff. Three of our kids lived down there for several years and it was always on our minds. Best of wishes for you all.

I suppose that hurricanes are part of the price for living in a snow free belt. Good luck to you and yours in the coming situation.

We've been pretty lucky. The only bad storm in the past 45 years here was Kate in 85. It was a cat3 that spun off little tornadoes all over. One property would look untouched and the property next door would look like a war zone. I was living on my current property in a mobile home at the time. We lost 3 trees that hit nothing and the property next door which I own now was a total mess. Nearby neighbors had their front porch ripped off and laid to rest in the back field. We stayed in town with my mother. I had put the chainsaw in my truck and had to help cut three sections of road open to get home the next day.

That is the real inland danger of these. Tornadoes!
