Increasing 110 tlb loader lift capacity

Clearing trees has always been the time when I'm most likely to have moments when the tractor can get "light in the @ss"! Generally, it's when I grab onto a pile and they're pretty long... quite a bit of lateral force on the loader and can make the tractor tippy. Try to center the load if the trees are big - and back off - when they're just too many big ones. Smaller bites...

Frozen stumps and root wads are "burn projects". Can take a couple of weeks to get them burned down to ash. Here's a pic of me tryin' to get the fire goin' again and adding another stump to the burn.

I wish I had a cab on the 110... no such luck! Steve's got a Laurin cab on his 110. Would have added around $8K to the cost of the machine... really hard to get the wife onboard with a $50K price tag!

Of course, when she had a few year's learning how to use the tractor and could see how that machine "changed" our farm - it was pretty easy getting her to agree to buying a CAB 5075M!

The backhoe unit with HD 20" bucket and thumb and cylinder guards is over 2,000lbs (1,980 with 18" bucket OEM). So, what type of rear ballast would you consider using if the loader capacity was increased?

AKfish

The backhoe stays on whenever I am digging and moving a lot of material, which is when I want the extra capacity. I also have the rear tires loaded with rim guard, which adds about 1100 lbs.

I am not looking to double the capacity, but it just seems that this is a much heavier built tractor than the 4000 series, yet can only lift several hundred pounds more. The other newer loader I have used is a Kubota 4240 with the 853 loader. It will lift the same weight but is flimsy in comparison. I have used quite a few older tractors and any of the industrial ones were truly industrial.

Everything about the 110 is industrial except for it's loader capacity. It has a very good design with the thicker steel on the top and bottom of the loader arms, heavy cast iron masts for the loader, heavy frame, heavier front axle, etc. I just feel a little larger lift cylinders would complete the package.

The 110 is a well made machine and i am happy with mine. While i would like more lift capacity i recognize there are limits to everything. While the fel is strong and well made this tracgtor is only six feet wide so stability with high loads might be the issue rather the strength of the fel and frame. Having the rimguard in the rear tires is not recommended as per the manual.

i am sure you could put larger diameter cylinders on the fel and lift more but i would think you are on your own with that. Whatever you decide be careful and let us know how it works out. Sounds to me like you should have bought a 310 or Kubota m59.
