See? That's the problem. YOU want EST/DST so it's convenient for you because you're close to KY. Bob Skurka or someone near him might want CST/DST because they're so close to Chicago. NOW, does anyone wonder why this has been such a battle for so long here? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If we were in a situation with no large cities right on our borders in different time zones it wouldn't be nearly so difficult. Indiana could pick one and let the folks over the line adapt to us instead of the other way around.

Danny,
Was that pun intended? If not, it should have been! hahaha /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I wish I could be on Central time instead of Eastern Time -- I could watch an extra hour of sports at night. I get up at 4:50a and I'm lucky to see 1 quarter of Monday Night Football or 4 innings of a baseball playoff game because they start so darn late.

The folks out on the west coast have it made.

If they started these games earlier, perhaps some of the west coast audience, on a weeknight, might not get to see the very start -- but I surely would rather see the ending of a game rather than just the beginning.

If I was Indiana, I'd pick Central Time.

After 30+ years living in MD, it was nice this year to have the World Series starting at 5:30 /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

That's my choice, too. I'd like prime time programming on earlier and the 'late' news at ten. I actually came home and napped a bit during the baseball playoffs this year so I wouldn't miss anything once the games started. It was a good thing, too. That post midnight and post one AM stuff was STILL late. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Moved to South Bend 27 years ago and only lasted exactly 2 years there. Great folks, low cost of living, but there were 2 things that were really weird: 1) the time zone thing and 2) back then they didn't include all the taxes in the psoted gas prices!!! So, you had all of these cheap gas prices posted at the gas stations, fill up your car, and then had to go thru mental gyrations to add the taxes on to the gas pump sale price. I think that they finally fixed the gas price issue, but between those 2 items and the long grey winters, I only lasted 2 years to the day.
