The owner of British chemical company Ineos is a fan of the Landrover Defender, and like many other hardcore fans, are disappointed by the new Defender, which is more like a mall cruiser than a utilitarian offroader.
So he buys BMW inline six diesel and gas engines, a ZF 8 speed automatic, and Carraro axles, assembled in a former Mercedes plant, and co-developed by Magna Steyr, builder of the Merc G wagon.
The interior is mostly rubber, so you can hose it off if farmers get **** on it, or soldiers get blood on it.
I hear people on this forum allways saying they want a base spec work truck without the gadgets, but the downside of the Grenadier is the price tag of 59.000 GBP, so the people able to afford them, are not the people who are looking for a utilitarian, practical vehicle.

INEOS identified a gap in the market for a stripped back, utilitarian, hard-working 4X4 engineered for modern day compliance and reliability. We’re building a serious off-roader from the ground up ready for all American conditions.
