I have seen on-line some LingHai/Yamaha engine, inexpensive UTV for sale.
4X2 loaded with extras, 300cc engines going for $4695. Anyone know anything about these besides the fact that parts may be hard to find?

I've seen those same vehicles. I would try to find a used Mule, Ranger, Rhino, etc before I would risk one of those.

Thanks for the advice,a friend who is a mechanic/technician and owns two motorcycles is going with me to check one of these out. I talked to a farmer in Indiana who bought one, he has had it for 6 months and uses it daily. ( He also has a 16 year old who really puts it to the test. He said he was very happy with it and actually surprised at how good it was for the money. I like your JD I have a 3320 Front End Loader and 5ft finishing mower on 21 acres. Ionly cut 8 acres.

My tractor is a 4310, I have had good service out of it. Some of the Chinese vehicles are a gamble. I bought my daughter a Chinese ATV. For the first few months I couldn't stand the thing. It was hard to start and the way the brake handle was made you couldn't set the parking brake. After break in, it starts fine. I took a chance on a $650 ATV, that is a long way from a $4695 UTV. UTVs are very useful regardless of what kind you get. Let us know how it turns out.

Those chuckwagon Subaru engines are basically air cooled lawn mower engines.

All you have to do is drive one of the cheap ones and then drive a quality UTV like a Polaris Ranger, Kubota RTV, Arctic Cat Prowler, Rhino, Mule, Big Red or Gator and you will see the difference right away. The cheap ones are just CHEAP. I like the Polaris Ranger myself. I drove a few when first looking, and even a Kymco and thought the cheap ones were just junk!

You might think you are saving money when you buy the cheap stuff but in the long run it will catch up with you. Either broken parts and aggravation of fixing something all the time or getting no resale when trying to sell. Better off buying a brand name with a reputation than fixing an el-cheapo all the time. Same goes for tractors. Pay the extra if you want to use them and not be fixing them all the time..
